The Formation of the Council of Community Service and Environment Development Affairs

According to the article no. 35 of the law no. 142 for the year (1994) The Council of Community Service and Environment Development is formed from the Vice-president for Community Service and Environment Development as the chairman and:

First:Vice-deans of the University Faculties and Institutes for Community Service and Environment Development.

Second:The number of members should not be less than five and not more than ten of those who have expertise in the fields of production, services and public affairs. They are appointed for a term of two renewable years by the University President after consulting the Council of Community Service and Environment Development and after the approval of the University Council. They are not entitled to hold this membership and the membership of the University Council at the same time.

Competences

The Council of Community Service and Environment Development pertains to consider the following issues:

·        Studying and suggesting the public policy, plans and programs that ensure the realization of the university role in community service and environment development.

·        Studyingthe problems of productive activity and the role of services and work sites in the environment and the role of applied scientific research to solve these problems.

·        Studying and suggesting the general policy for creating and managing Special Units that provide services to non-students, with the exception of the University Hospitals.

·        Studying and suggesting the general policy for developing and implementing training programs for community members regarding the use of modern scientific and technical methods. Not only that but also educating them and raisingtheir productive efficiency in various fields.

·        Studying and suggesting the general policy of organizing conferences, scientific symposia and public lectures aimed at community service and environment development.

·        Studying the issues referredto it by the University Council and expressing its opinion on other matters which fall within its competences and in accordance with the law.
