The University is the engine of development in all countries, especially developing ones. so the main objective of the sector is to make the University a major actor that society cannot dispense with and its role, The objectives of the community service and environmental development sector are as follows:
- Further linking the university to industry and supporting partnership with the business sector and the private sector and working to remove all the obstacles faced by this partnership in the past years, tracking community institutions and creating a continuously updated database for them, identifying community needs, studying the needs of civil society and the possibility of partnership and determining the level of this partnership under the possibilities available at the university by identifying the problems of society and developing appropriate scientific plans to deal with them, and studying the problems of productive activity and the role of applied research in solving them.
- Participate in raising awareness and spreading culture among members of the community, and maintaining environmental integrity through an environmental impact assessment review with the aim of providing scientific and technical advice to new projects.
- Study and propose public policies to organize community and environmental conferences and scientific seminars that serve the surrounding community directly, as well as encourage medical, scientific and educational convoys of local units, villages and schools, increase these convoys, develop their objectives and provide all possible support to them.
- Developing a mechanism to encourage faculty members, staff and students to actively participate in the voluntary service of the university, the community and the surrounding environment in Daqahliya province and the neighboring Delta provinces, where community service and environmental conservation are an integral part of the university professor's mission, which we aim to revive.
- Developing the special units because of their importance in serving the community and developing the self-resources that help the University to fulfill its mission, by:
- Establish an advanced database for the special units of the University and various colleges and follow up their activities.
- Seek to activate the unified regulations of the units and adapt them to be more flexible and effective as well as push new administrative leadership to maximize the utilization of special units.
- Develop the infrastructure of the special units, by supporting the units with the necessary equipment and increasing their competitiveness in providing outstanding community services.
- Develop the skills of the special units operators and increase the efficiency of managing and using available resources and giving them the ability to absorb and apply scientific developments.
- Activate the concept of a productive university that provides its services and university products and market them by opening multiple channels of advertising for community services and products provided by the University and its colleges through various marketing and promotion means.
