▪️ Today, May 15, 2024, the University’s Human Rights Unit, in cooperation with the College of Medicine, held a symposium for the university’s medical staff under the title: Patient Rights.
Prof. Dr. Tamer Saleh spoke about the patient’s legal rights, His Eminence Sheikh Khaled Saeed, one of the Al-Azhar scholars, spoke about compassion for the patient, and Dr. Lina Hosni discussed the patient’s rights in accordance with the professional code of honor.
After that, the attendees asked questions to the lecturers, and after the end of the symposium, they visited the Safe Women’s Unit at the college.

The President of Mansoura University discusses the plan of action for the integrated caravan for Halayeb and Shalatin
Today, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 AD, Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, held a meeting with members of the Mansoura University integrated convoy “Bridges of Goodness-21” heading to Halayeb, Shalatin, and Abu Ramad, during the period from May 17-21, 2024 AD, in cooperation with The Ministry of Social Solidarity and Decent Life and the Red Sea Governorate, to discuss the details of the convoy’s work and the integrated services it will provide.
In the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and head of the convoy, Professor Dr. Ghada Al-Qunaishi, Vice President of the College of Medicine and head of the medical team, Dr. Hossam El-Din Al-Hilali, coordinator of the integrated convoys and head of the administrative team.
Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater said that the integrated convoy comes within the framework of presidential initiatives to develop solidarity in the Egyptian state, and within the framework of activating the role of Mansoura University in serving society, and to be active and interactive in the new republic.
He also stressed the importance of the role of integrated convoys in supporting the delivery of various services to people in remote places, especially border areas.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim indicated that the convoy is carried out in cooperation with all executive authorities in the Red Sea Governorate, and the integrated convoy includes specializations: medical, veterinary, agricultural awareness, sports, food supplies, and educational scholarships convoy.
He stated that the integrated convoy includes 54 faculty members and administrators at the university, and the medical convoy also includes 37 doctors, faculty members at the College of Medicine from various specialties.
He pointed out that the food and supplies convoy is the largest of its kind, as it includes 17 tons of rice - 17 tons of flour - 25 tons of pasta - 50 cartons of dates - one ton of chicken - 100 cartons of food supplies - one ton of ready-made clothes.
His Excellency also reviewed the convoy’s movement schedule: The start signal begins tomorrow, Thursday, with the movement of the first team, then on Friday, the entire convoy will start at exactly 8 am, with Saturday being the beginning of the convoy’s work until the end of its work on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Today, Sunday, May 12, 2024, Professor Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, inaugurated a number of medical projects in hospitals and medical centers at the university.
This was in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Sweilem, former Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Major General Sameh Mohamed Youssef, Head of the Civil Projects Sector at the National Service Projects Agency, Prof. Dr. El-Shaarawy Kamal, Director. Executive Director of Hospitals and Medical Centers, Professor Dr. Walid Abu Samra, Director of the Center for Ophthalmology and Surgery, Professor Dr. Hazem Hakim, Director of Al Batinah Specialized Hospital, Brigadier Nasser Mahmoud Youssef, Vice President of the Sector and Director of Mansoura University Projects.
The openings include: developing outpatient clinics, the medical analysis laboratory, developing accident operations in the emergency and training building at the Ophthalmology Center - operating the path connecting the main building and the new building at Al Batinah Hospital - opening the health insurance clinic for university employees in the main university services complex.
Professor Dr. Sherif Khater confirmed that the political leadership represented by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, pays great attention to supporting and developing medical and health services in university hospitals and medical centers, as it is one of the basic pillars of providing distinguished health services to citizens, noting that the medical centers and hospitals at Mansoura University enjoy the trust of... Citizens due to the distinguished health services they provide, explaining that university hospitals seek to achieve the country’s 2030 strategy and provide a decent life in terms of health for citizens.
The development of the outpatient clinics at the Ophthalmology and Surgery Center was opened, including a new building with an area of about 700 square meters, implemented by the National Service Projects Agency, under the supervision of the Center for Studies, Research and Engineering Consultations at Mansoura University. It includes a new patient lounge that can accommodate about 200 additional patients with all the services that the patient needs, including relationships. General, receiving, booking appointments, and completing procedures for issuing state expense decisions, health insurance, or entry procedures, withdrawing samples for medical tests, and the treasury. The infrastructure, technical and information technology services were also renewed, and general and specialized clinics and an economic treatment clinic were added to provide distinguished medical services.
It is worth noting that the center receives more than 280,000 patients annually to provide medical, surgical and diagnostic services at a high level of medical quality.
A medical analysis laboratory was also opened on an area of about 80 square meters, in accordance with international quality standards and the code for establishing medical laboratories.
It includes several units for various blood analyses, viruses, and plasma separation, equipped with the latest devices and microscopes necessary for medical analyses. It also includes a rest area and reception for patients, under the supervision of an elite group of faculty members at the Mansoura Faculty of Medicine.
The accident operations development was opened in the emergency and training building with an area of about 70 square metres. It includes the latest medical devices, microscopes, surgical machines, anesthesia and recovery devices for patients with eye accidents.
