It is an ambitious project that aims at exploiting the River Nile to transport people across the city of Mansoura. The project was implemented on a limited scale in the 

seventies of the past century but it did not last. Nowadays this project has become a necessity due to traffic jams in Mansoura; this in turn led to a preliminary study prepared by a team of the Faculty of Engineering students proposing the start of the Nile ferry in Mansoura: the suggested stops, sources of finance and the environmental impact of the project.
