42- Board of Directors Meeting of the Center for Environmental Impact Assessment and Consulting Studies, Sunday, January 19, 2025
The Board of Directors of the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Consultancy Center convened its 42nd meeting on Sunday, January 19, 2025, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim began the meeting by welcoming the esteemed members:
- Prof. Dr. Sherif Massoud, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
- Prof. Dr. Ehab Abdel Latif, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
- Prof. Dr. Alaa Al-Tamimi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
- Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Helwany, Director of the Environmental Studies Unit at the Faculty of Engineering.
- Prof. Dr. Zeinab Shaaban Abu Al-Naga, Director of the Center.
- Dr. Mohamed Gar Al-Alam, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Works, Faculty of Engineering.
- Dr. Mostafa Anan, Head of the Executive Authority for the Gamasa Industrial Zone.
- Dr. Reda Ibrahim, General Director of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector.
At the outset, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim presented several proposals to the council members. Following this, the minutes of the previous session, No. 41, held on July 4, 2024, were ratified and approved by the University President.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Zeinab Shaaban Abu Al-Naga, the Center’s Director, submitted several memos addressing important proposals aimed at enhancing the Center's role in community service and environmental development. These included:
- A proposal to hold a specialized scientific conference focusing on environmental impact assessment in development projects.
- Requests from local and international companies to collaborate with the Center in environmental consultancy and impact assessment.
These proposals were thoroughly discussed by the council members, who provided their observations and recommendations to improve the Center’s operations and reinforce its role in supporting sustainable development and environmental protection.
The meeting concluded with the establishment of mechanisms for implementing the decisions made and a timeline to monitor their execution. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Center and various institutions to achieve shared goals.
This meeting represents a significant step towards developing the Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Consultancy Center into a leader in its field, both locally and regionally.
