The Community Awareness Committee organized an awareness seminar entitled:
“Bullying: Its Dangers and Ways to Confront It – Towards a Safe Environment for All”

Seminar Objective:

To shed light on the growing phenomenon of bullying, which affects all segments of society, and to enhance awareness of the importance of confronting it in order to achieve a supportive and safe environment for all.

Keynote Speaker:

Lecturer of Child Mental Health – Faculty of Early Childhood Education

Main Topics Covered:

• Definition of bullying

• Who is the bully? On what basis does a bully choose their victim?

• Personality traits of both the bully and the victim

• Screening of a video illustrating school bullying, followed by discussion with students

• Types of bullying (verbal, physical, material, social, cyberbullying)

• Raising awareness on cyberbullying, especially regarding online blackmail and its dangers

• Root causes of bullying

• Signs indicating a child is being bullied

• Psychological and social impacts on both the victim and the bully

• How can we address and treat bullying? How can we protect our children from being bullied or becoming bullies?

• Strategies for teachers and caregivers to deal with bullies

• Practical solutions and guidance for actively participating in confronting bullying

• Role of the family, especially in curbing cyberbullying

• Legal penalties for bullying according to Egyptian law

Interactive Session:

The seminar witnessed a high level of interaction, with participants sharing their views and personal experiences related to bullying. It left a positive impact through valuable insights and practical guidance that contribute to building a more aware society and promoting constructive community dialogue as a tool for positive change.

Conclusion:

The seminar emphasized that tackling bullying is no longer an individual responsibility but a national priority, embraced by the Egyptian state as part of its ambitious Vision 2030 strategy, which focuses on holistic development of the Egyptian citizen—psychologically, socially, and educationally.

This seminar reflects Mansoura University’s leading role in community service and awareness-building, helping spread a culture of respect and tolerance and fostering a healthy, humane, and educationally supportive environment.

The event concluded with a motivational message to the attending female students, encouraging them to believe in themselves, pursue academic and personal success, and embrace their vital role in building a responsible and conscious society.
