The Events of the Fourth and Final Consecutive Day of Mansoura University’s Convoy in North Sinai

Medical Convoy Activities

Today's events included the provision of distinguished medical services across several specialties, namely:

  • Dentistry

  • Rheumatology and Immunology

  • ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat)

  • Urology Surgery

  • Anesthesiology

  • Nephrology

  • Pulmonology and Pediatrics

  • Psychiatry and Neurology

  • Cardiology

  • Dermatology

  • Internal Medicine

  • Ophthalmology

Total number of medical consultations: 555 cases

Surgeries performed:

  • 2 major surgeries

  • 2 minor dental procedures

  • 7 upper and lower GI endoscopies

  • Ward rounds in the Dialysis Unit

Number of hospital referrals: 7 cases


Endoscopy Unit Achievements (July 25–29, 2025):

  • 21 gastrointestinal endoscopies performed, including:

    • 17 upper endoscopies

    • 4 colonoscopies

Therapeutic procedures included:

  • Esophageal varices banding for 3 cases

  • Gastric varices injection for one female patient

Diagnoses and findings:

  • Advanced malignant stomach tumor in a patient with severe anemia

  • Rectal tumor in a patient with rectal bleeding

  • Cases of stomach ulcers, GERD, hiatal hernia

  • Barrett’s esophagus

  • Biopsies taken from mucosal linings to assess chronic inflammation

Additional services:

  • 75 GI and liver patient consultations

  • Two liver transplant referrals for patients with liver failure, with donor arrangements made from relatives

Veterinary Convoy

Location: El-Arish City – Al-Rehab area, Zeraa El-Kheir area, Camel Club – under the jurisdiction of El-Arish Veterinary Department

Led by:

  • Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Saeed – Consultant in Reproduction and Artificial Insemination

Team members:

  • Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Ahmed Abdallah – Consultant in Internal and Infectious Diseases

  • Dr. Mohamed Ali Mohamed El-Bahrawy – Lecturer in Surgery, Anesthesia, and Radiology

  • Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Abdel Hamid El-Mansy – Assistant Lecturer in Reproduction

Total animals examined:

  • 20 camels

  • 174 sheep and goats

  • 53 cattle

  • 355 poultry

  • 6 working animals (donkeys, etc.)

Services Provided:

  • Veterinary examinations, treatments, and vaccinations were provided free of charge from the convoy’s veterinary pharmacy

  • Guidance was given to breeders on:

    • Animal health and hygiene

    • Modern care and prevention programs

Local Support:

  • A number of veterinarians from the El-Arish Veterinary Department in North Sinai accompanied the convoy and provided full support throughout its operations

End of Day Activities:

  • The convoy members visited the North Sinai Veterinary Directorate

  • Dr. Abeer Hejab – Director of the Directorate – extended thanks to the convoy team

  • Convoy members also expressed their gratitude to the director and the directorate’s staff for their cooperation during all convoy days


Nursing Faculty Activities – Nursing Awareness Component

Location: Outpatient Clinics of El-Arish Hospital, Social Rehabilitation Center

Activities included awareness sessions on:

  • Osteoporosis

  • Hypertension

  • Diabetes

  • Healthy nutrition

  • Prenatal care

Seminars:
Two awareness seminars at the Social Rehabilitation Center on:

  • Proper nutrition

  • Anemia and prevention

  • Personal hygiene for adolescent girls

  • Breast self-examination training

Awareness conducted by:

  • Dr. Asmaa Ahmed (Community Health Department – Faculty of Nursing)


Childhood Convoy Activities

Continuing the “Bridges of Goodness” Convoy in El-Arish

As part of its ongoing societal and humanitarian mission, Mansoura University’s “Bridges of Goodness” Convoy resumed its activities in El-Arish. On the final day of the convoy, Tuesday, July 29, many unique activities were held to support children and children with special needs and their families.

Highlights:

  • Visit to the Social Rehabilitation Center in El-Arish, including:

    • Al-Abrar Nursery

    • Speech Therapy and Vocational Rehabilitation Center

  • Full participation in the daily activities with children

  • Fun and educational programs with direct interaction

  • Psychological and behavioral support to bring joy to the children

Field Visits:

  • Prof. Dr. Samah Khamis – team leader – conducted home visits to families of children with special needs in the vicinity of the center

  • Psychological support and necessary guidance were provided

  • Aimed to strengthen sustainable support ties with the local community
