and the leadership of Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The seminar was graciously hosted by the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, under the patronage of
Prof. Sahar Tawfik, Dean of the Faculty,
and Prof. Samah Khamis, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
💬 The awareness seminar titled “Don’t You Dare Try” featured several distinguished speakers.
🎙️ Prof. Sahar Abdelaziz El-Dekroury,
General Supervisor of Preventive Programs for the Addiction and Substance Abuse Control Fund at Mansoura University and General Supervisor of the Volunteer House,
spoke about the types of addiction, the World Health Organization’s classification of addictive substances,
and emphasized the importance of not using any kind of medication without medical supervision,
nor exceeding the prescribed dosage or duration of treatment.
She also corrected misconceptions about addiction-related medications and stimulants.
⚠️ Additionally, she discussed the psychological and health risks of dietary supplements used in gyms,
and warned against the drug GHB and its serious dangers to young women.
🩺 Dr. Belal Shaaban,
General Supervisor of Preventive Programs for the Addiction and Substance Abuse Control Fund in Dakahlia Governorate and Supervisor of the Fund for the Volunteer House,
spoke about the hotline of the Addiction Treatment and Control Fund and the official treatment channels available.
