An event entitled "Day of Will" in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at the Faculty of Arts

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, with the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Jaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, and Prof. Dr. Dina Abu El-Ala, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the event titled "Day of Willpower" was held today in celebration of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities.

The event started with the national anthem, followed by a recitation of the Quran by the student Marwa Safwat, a person with special needs from the first year of the Arabic Department.

Then, Prof. Dr. Dina Abu El-Ala gave a speech, in which she spoke about President Sisi’s efforts to care for persons with disabilities and the University of Mansoura's attention to them. She also mentioned the distinguished models of these individuals who had been honored by President Sisi.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Jaidi, Dean of the Faculty, also delivered a speech, discussing the state's efforts, including those of President Sisi, to support people with disabilities, as well as the role of the university. He emphasized that the Faculty of Arts accommodates a large number of students with special needs and their care.

Dr. Walid Tantawi, Secretary of the University of Mansoura for Education and Student Affairs, spoke about the laws related to the education of persons with disabilities, the university's efforts in supporting them, the scholarships provided, and the various forms of assistance available.

The event also included a workshop presented by Dr. Eman Hussein from the Psychology Department, discussing the importance of willpower in a person’s life, which was met with significant interaction from students and their families in attendance.

A team of volunteers from the Red Crescent Society conducted a workshop on first aid and how to prevent the spread of infections. They also distributed gifts to the attending students.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Massad Salama, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Samia Hassanin, former Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Samia Hamdi, Head of the Arabic Department, Dr. Mariam Weesa, Coordinator of the "Bidaya" initiative at the university, Dr. Mustafa Amin, General Director of Environmental Projects at the university, and several faculty members.

The event was held in collaboration with the General Administration for the Care of Students with Disabilities at the university, under the leadership of Mr. Hossam El-Husseini.
