A seminar titled: "Voluntary Work and Combating Corruption" was held at the Faculty of Nursing, Mansoura University, as part of the activities of the Presidential Initiative for Human Development, under the theme "A New Beginning for Building the Human

" The seminar was also in celebration of International Volunteer Day, and under the patronage of:

  • Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University
  • Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim Mohamed, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development

And leadership by:

  • Prof. Dr. Sahar Tawfik Naseem, Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education
  • Prof. Dr. Abir Zakaria, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing

The seminar was organized by the Community Awareness Committee and targeted the students of the Faculty of Nursing. It included various topics such as:

  • The concept of voluntary work, its types, and its importance
  • The rights and duties of volunteers
  • Examples of voluntary work by the prophets mentioned in the Quran
  • Voluntary work by the companions of the Prophet (PBUH)

The seminar also discussed the concept of corruption, its forms, including financial, administrative, and moral corruption, as well as its causes, risks, and its impact on both individuals and society.

At the end of the seminar, it was emphasized that the importance of voluntary work is not limited to improving the lives of those unable to help themselves, but it also enhances the personal lives of the volunteers, contributing to the development of personal and social skills. It was highlighted that voluntary work encourages individuals to live the lives of others, experience new things, and avoid boredom. Voluntary work is a form of elevation and advancement.

The seminar concluded with a discussion session, where questions from students were answered, and further advice was given on mechanisms for combating corruption. It was stressed that the role of the family and the teacher is vital, and the influence of good role models in shaping the values of future generations. Finally, commemorative photos of the seminar were taken.
