Comprehensive Medical Convoy in Battra Village, Dakahlia Governorate, Thursday, February 27, 2025

On Thursday, February 27, 2025, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Mansoura University organized a comprehensive medical convoy to Battra Village, Talkha Center, Dakahlia Governorate, with the participation of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.


First: Participation of the Faculty of Nursing

The Faculty of Nursing participated under the leadership of:

  • Prof. Dr. Abir Mohamed Zakaria - Acting Dean of the Faculty of Nursing
  • Prof. Dr. Fatma Imam Hafiz - Acting Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development

The college's contribution included the following educational lectures:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sally Mohamed El-Sayed, Assistant Professor of Geriatric Nursing, discussed Healthy Nutrition during Ramadan, including tips for managing chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
  • Dr. Hend Wagih Abu Zaid, Lecturer in Pediatric Nursing, covered topics on children's healthy nutrition, the food pyramid, bedwetting, and oral and dental health care.
  • Awareness was also raised about the new COVID-19 variant and prevention methods.

Second: Participation of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine participated under the leadership of:

  • Prof. Dr. Maha Abdo Mohamed El-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty
  • Supervision by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Gaber Sayed Gaber, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development
  • With the participation of Dr. Mamdouh Saeed Mohamed Hussein, Consultant in Obstetrics, Reproduction, and Artificial Insemination

The faculty provided veterinary medical services to the community, including medical examinations and the dispensing of medications for animals. The services provided included:

  • Cattle and Buffalo: 19 cases
  • Sheep: 125 cases
  • Draft Animals: 35 cases
  • Poultry: 850 cases
  • Pets: 9 cases
  • Additionally, guidance on animal health and care was provided.

Third: Participation of the Faculty of Medicine in the Comprehensive Convoy

The Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry participated, in collaboration with the "Decent Life" Foundation, providing medical examinations across various specialties.
