Awareness Caravan for Literacy Eradication in El-Manzala Village – El-Manzala District – Dakahlia Governorate

As part of the societal role undertaken by the Faculty of Specific Education – Mansoura University, and in line with the state's development plan and Egypt’s Vision 2030 for Sustainable Development, the Faculty of Specific Education – Mansoura University organized on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, an awareness caravan for literacy eradication in collaboration with the General Authority for Adult Education, Dakahlia Branch.

📍 Location: El-Manzala Village – El-Manzala District – Dakahlia Governorate

Under the patronage of:

  • Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater – President of Mansoura University

  • Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim – Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development

Led by:

  • Prof. Dr. Mohy El-Din El-Allamy – Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education

  • Prof. Dr. Mohsen El-Ghandour – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development

With the attendance of:

  • Prof. Dr. Amani El-Sayed Ghobour – Literacy Coordinator at the Faculty

  • Mr. Hamad El-Husseiny – Director of the Dakahlia Branch of Adult Education

  • Mr. Ahmed El-Gohary, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and Ms. Ibtisam – Certificate Delivery Committee

🎯 Objectives of the Caravan:

  • Raising awareness of the importance of literacy eradication

  • Encouraging citizens to join adult education and literacy classes

  • Identifying target cases and registering those interested in literacy classes

🔹 Activities Carried Out During the Caravan:

  • Conducting an awareness seminar on the impact of illiteracy on development

  • Delivering certificates

  • Conducting written assessments (for certification eligibility)

  • Holding direct meetings with villagers to motivate and encourage them to pursue education

  • Coordinating with relevant entities to provide literacy classes in the village

📊 Caravan Results:

  • 40 certificates delivered

  • 34 written assessments conducted for certification

  • Over 60 citizens registered to join literacy classes

  • Significant improvement in awareness among villagers about the importance of education

Recommendations:

  • Continuation of such caravans on a regular basis across Dakahlia villages

  • Strengthening partnerships with governmental bodies and civil society organizations to achieve sustainable outcomes

  • Providing incentives to participants in literacy programs to encourage continuity and commitment

The Faculty of Specific Education – Mansoura University reaffirms its full commitment to its societal role and continues to actively contribute to building an educated and aware community.
