Today, Sunday, October 5, 2025, the Community Service and Environmental Development Council at Mansoura University convened its 264th session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development. The session was attended by the Vice Deans of the faculties for Community Service and Environmental Development, as well as external members: Prof. Dr. El-Shaarawy Kamal, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Prof. Dr. Nesreen Omar, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Member of Parliament; and Mr. Hazem Nasr, Editor-in-Chief of Akhbar Al-Youm in Dakahlia. Also present were the Director General of the General Administration for Community Service Affairs and the Director General of the General Administration for Environmental Projects.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim opened the session with a welcoming speech, extending his congratulations to the Egyptian people and their political leadership on the glorious anniversary of the October victories. He also congratulated Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim, Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Arts, on his appointment as a member of the Supreme Council of Culture. In addition, he expressed gratitude to Prof. Dr. Samah Hafez for her service as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Community Service and Environmental Development, and to Prof. Dr. Doaa Hazza for her service as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for the same sector. He congratulated Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Zohry on his appointment as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Mona Sami on her appointment as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for the same sector.

The meeting included a detailed presentation on the activities of the Community Service and Environmental Development sector, as well as proposed, ongoing, and completed projects. The roles of each faculty within this sector were reviewed, alongside updates on projects being implemented at Mansoura University Hospitals and the efficiency of their execution, which were discussed in detail by Prof. Dr. El-Shaarawy Kamal, highlighting their importance.

The session also addressed the visual identity of Mansoura University, with participants emphasizing the need for swift implementation and praising the aesthetic value of the designs, which reflect the university’s distinguished status.

During the meeting, the floor was opened for discussions and inquiries from members. The agenda was then reviewed, including the ratification of the previous session No. 263 held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, which had been approved by the University President on July 26, 2025. The listed agenda items were subsequently discussed, and the necessary recommendations were adopted.

The meeting concluded with Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim expressing his gratitude to the attendees for their efforts in serving the community and developing the environment. He stressed the importance of continuing to work as a team and exerting further efforts to achieve the university’s goals and mission in community service and support for sustainable development.
