As part of the community and awareness role of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, the General Administration of Environmental Projects, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and the Directorate of Health and Population, organized an awareness initiative titled "Awareness and Prevention of the New Variant of the Coronavirus" on Sunday, February 16, 2025, with the participation of the following faculties: • Faculty of Arts • Faculty of Agriculture • Faculty of Fine Arts

A notable attendance from university leaders and specialists was observed.

The event was attended by a distinguished group of professors and specialists, including: ✅ Prof. Dr. Dina Abu Al-Ala – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development. ✅ Dr. Mohamed Gamal – Assistant Professor of Pulmonology at the Faculty of Medicine. ✅ Dr. Mustafa Amin – Director of the General Administration of Environmental Projects. ✅ Dr. Iman Al-Shahawi – Representative of the Health Culture Administration at the Directorate of Health and Population in Dakahlia.

The initiative was attended by 128 students from the participating faculties, including 88 female students and 40 male students.

Event Activities: 🔹 The event was opened with a speech by Dr. Mustafa Amin, who welcomed the attendees and conveyed the greetings of Prof. Dr. Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in promoting health awareness and reducing the spread of viral diseases. 🔹 A speech followed by Prof. Dr. Dina Abu Al-Ala, who praised the initiative’s role in spreading health culture and emphasized the importance of following preventive measures to protect the community. 🔹 Dr. Mohamed Gamal then presented a lecture on: 📌 Symptoms of the new variant of the coronavirus. 📌 Personal protection methods and how to limit the transmission of the virus. 📌 Avoiding large gatherings and its role in reducing the spread of viruses. 🔹 Dr. Iman Al-Shahawi gave a speech highlighting the efforts of the Health Culture Administration in Dakahlia in spreading preventive awareness and reviewing the key activities of supervision teams in educating the community on disease prevention methods.

Event Conclusion: The initiative concluded with commemorative photos with the attendees, marking the success of the event and reinforcing the importance of continuing such initiatives to spread health awareness within and outside the university community.
