"The first day of the comprehensive convoy 'Bridges of Goodness 22' from Mansoura University to North Sinai."

Prologue: Bridges of Goodness and Love Crossing the Desert

As part of Mansoura University's ongoing efforts to extend support and promote community development, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector launched the comprehensive convoy "Bridges of Goodness 22" to North Sinai Governorate. The convoy carried messages of hope, medical assistance, awareness services, as well as educational and entertainment activities for the most in-need communities — reflecting the university's pioneering role in serving society and strengthening national unity.


First: Specialized Medical Convoys – Comprehensive Coverage of North Sinai Regions

1. Sheikh Zuweid

Specialties: Dentistry, Cardiology, Dermatology, Nephrology, and Ophthalmology

  • Total consultations: 291 cases

  • Dialysis patient follow-up: 35 cases

2. Arish

Specialties: Rheumatology and Immunology, ENT, Urology Surgery, Anesthesiology, Psychiatry and Neurology

  • Total consultations: 55 cases

  • Major surgeries performed: 10 operations

3. Gifgafa

Specialties: Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Pediatrics, and Ophthalmology

  • Total consultations: 120 cases


Second: Dental Medical Convoy

Led by:

  • Dr. Mohamed Galal – Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

  • Dr. Ahmed Tawfiq – Department of Pediatric Dentistry

A total of 25 cases were examined and treated as follows:

  • 3 root canal treatments

  • 10 adult tooth extractions

  • 4 regular fillings

  • 4 pediatric extractions

  • 4 pediatric fillings


Third: Veterinary Convoy – Supporting Livestock in Wadi and Atef El-Sadat Area (Arish District)

Led by:
Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Saeed – Consultant of Obstetrics, Reproduction, and Artificial Insemination
Team Members:

  • Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Ahmed Abdallah – Consultant of Internal and Infectious Diseases

  • Dr. Mohamed Ali Mohamed El-Bahrawy – Lecturer of Surgery, Anesthesia, and Radiology

  • Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Abdel Hamid El-Mansy – Assistant Lecturer of Reproduction

Animals examined included:

  • 9 camels

  • 146 sheep and goats

  • 35 cows

  • 5 donkeys

  • 200 poultry birds

Treatment and vaccinations were provided free of charge through the convoy's veterinary pharmacy, in full cooperation with veterinarians from the Veterinary Medicine Directorate and Arish Veterinary Department.

Awareness programs were also delivered on:

  • Optimal animal care practices

  • Healthy feeding techniques

  • Disease prevention strategies


Fourth: Convoy from the Faculty of Early Childhood Education – Gifgafa Village

Supervised by:

  • Prof. Dr. Samah Ramadan Khamis – Coordinator of the University’s Community Awareness Committee

  • Dr. Samah Talaat

  • Teaching Assistant Yasmin Qadri El-Tantawy

  • Dr. Hossam El-Hilaly – Committee Member

  • Student: Alaa Marzouk

Activities were designed for 75 children and included:

  • Discussions on national identity and expressing love for the homeland

  • Educational riddles to enhance creative thinking

  • Face painting of the Egyptian flag

  • Group physical games to instill team spirit

  • Artistic activities such as coloring, collaborative drawing, clay and foam modeling

  • Distribution of glove and stick puppets as keepsake gifts

The day ended with photo sessions using cartoon masks and bubble play toys, creating a joyful atmosphere. The children expressed their happiness and asked for a repeat visit.


Fifth: Nursing Faculty Convoy – Health Awareness for Children and Families

Led by:

  • Prof. Dr. Fatma El-Imam – Professor of Community Health Nursing

  • Dr. Asmaa Ahmed – Lecturer of Community Health Nursing

Awareness sessions focused on:

  • The importance of mandatory vaccinations for children

  • Parasitic diseases and prevention methods

  • Diabetes and blood pressure awareness

  • Teaching children handwashing and personal hygiene habits

The health messages were simple, clear, age-appropriate, and aimed at encouraging healthy daily habits.


End of Day One: A Promising Start to a Bridge of Goodness

The day embodied a spirit of collaboration and highlighted the university's role that goes far beyond academics — reaching out to support both the nation and its people wherever needed.

"Bridges of Goodness 22" brought light and hope to Sinai, affirming that Egypt is strong through its people, institutions, and universities that extend a helping hand wherever it’s needed.

Through medical care, education, support, and joy — Mansoura University painted a truly national picture on this first day, with more giving and service to follow in the coming days.
