Prominent Athletic Figures at Mansoura University
Under the auspices of the University President, and presided by the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Education, the Sector of Community Service and Environment Development at the faculty of Sports Education in coordination with the Department of Sports Psychology organized a series of symposia entitled “Successful Athletic Figures.” On Tuesday, May 10th, 2016, in celebration of the Egyptian handball national team’s success in occupying a place among contestants in the Olympics of Rio de Janeiro, Mansoura University welcomed Prof. Khalid Hammouda, the Head of the Egyptian Handball Federation and a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Olympic Academy, to be the guest of the first symposium in the Series.
Prof. Zaki Zidan, the University Vice- President for Community Service and Environment Development, asserted that he has always felt at home inside the faculty of Sports education, and that sport is considered the basis of life due to its important role in time management. He added that this series of symposia is important in transferring the experience, the knowledge, the art of management, and the quality service to the coming generations.
Prof. Khalid Hammouda expressed his pleasure for being at the prestigious and pioneering University of Mansoura. He also mentioned that the Handball Federation has achieved many successes over the last three years namely; achieving the First rank in Africa 2016, participating in the Olympics of Rio de Janeiro2016, and participating in the World Cup in France 2017, the thing which proves that Egypt has the best Handball Federation in Africa.
