The “Together...for Green Sustainability” initiative was held under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Samah Tariq Hafez; Vice Dean of the College of Commerce for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs - Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza; Vice Dean of the College of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs - Prof. Shaima Abdel Wahab; Assistant Professor at the College of Education.. its sixth event for the academic year 2023/2024 at the College of Engineering, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 AD, with a symposium entitled “Fourth Generation Cities as an Introduction to Sustainable Urban Development.”
Prof. Dr. Amira Yassin Heikal confirmed: The College of Engineering is keen to spread the culture of sustainability among its employees and called on the college’s employees to deal with the environment in a more balanced manner.
Prof. Dr. Samah Tariq Hafez spoke at the symposium, where he discussed the definition of the “Together for Green Sustainability” initiative and its objectives, and that the initiative comes in light of the interest in spreading the concept of sustainability at the university and the goals of sustainable development. It also addressed the definition of sustainable development and the country’s efforts to achieve development goals. Sustainable in light of Egypt's 20/30 vision and the importance of searching for planning and design alternatives for modern cities and residential complexes by taking advantage of new and renewable natural energy sources. It addressed the components of a green university, and Prof. Dr. Dina Al-Saeed Abu Al-Ela addressed; Head of the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts, Mansoura University.. Fourth generation cities and the axes of sustainable architecture for environmentally friendly buildings, whether with regard to location, land, energy management, renewable energy, water management, treated water, resource and waste management, and environmental quality.
At the end of the symposium, the floor was opened for questions and discussion.
