Community Service Council meeting, session 249 - March 2022

The Community Service and Environmental Development Council of Mansoura University held its meeting No. 249 on Sunday morning, 27/3/2022. headed by Prof. Mahmoud Mohammed Al- Meligi - vice president of the University for community service and environmental development Affairs, at the community service hall on the third floor of the University's General Administration Building, in the presence of the vice deans of the faculties for community service and environmental development Affairs, and the council members from abroad.

At the beginning of the council meeting, Prof. Mahmoud Al- Meligi thanked Dr. Saad Makki - former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Dakahlia for the efforts he made during his membership in the Community Service Council. He also thanked Mr. Dr. Mahmoud Mandouh - former Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development for the efforts he made during tenure as a Community Service and Environmental Development Vice Dean. He also welcomed Prof. Adel Al-Tabi - former Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Engineer / Ibrahim Hassanein - Captain of Engineers in Dakahlia, and Prof. Walid Abu Al-Maati - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service Affairs.

Then he presented a report on “Jusoor Al-Khair (14)” convoy organized by the Community Service Sector during March to  Al-Farafra and Dakhla oases in the Al-Wady Al-Gadid Governorate, and praised the efforts made by all the members of the convoy from the medical team, the Child Care and Development Center team, and the administrative team. Where he pointed out that the activities of the convoy resulted in the medical examination of 4,456 cases of residents of the city and the disbursement of medicines for them free of charge from the pharmacy of the convoy. In addition to transferring 65 cases to hospitals and medical centers at Mansoura university. He also praised the role of the Child Care and Development Center team, which contributed to provide many recreational and educational activities for more than 790 children, in addition to face painting and coloring, and distributing gifts, toys and candy to children.

He also presented the activities of the opening of the charitable market for students, and pointed out that the exhibition aims to reduce the financial burdens on university students and their parents by providing new clothes that suit their taste, which university students can benefit from through coupons that are distributed free of charge to those who deserve it. He also pointed out that the sector is in the process of distributing bags containing food goods to eligible workers at the University.

He also referred to the celebration of honoring the ideal mother for the year 2022 at Mansoura University, and the mothers of martyrs and victims of terrorist operations, which was organized by the General Administration of Environmental Projects on March 21, where 10 mothers of the armed forces, 10 police and 14 ideal mothers at Mansoura University were honored.

He also stressed the need to pay attention to the file of occupational safety and health, and the need to conduct safe evacuation experiments to train college staff on how to safely evacuate. Then he stressed the need to pay attention to the issue of illiteracy eradication and adult education, and the need to obligate students to the decision of the University Council to eradicate the illiteracy of a number of illiterates before graduation, and pointed out the need to encourage students continuously to participate in this national project, and to follow up periodically to increase the number of those who are being eradicated.

At the end of the meeting, Al-Meligy indicated that the College of Tourism and Hotels organized the first employment forum in the college with the aim of providing job opportunities for its students as well as providing the necessary training to qualify them for the labor market.
