The Meeting of Mansoura University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development with the Automation and Digital Transformation Team
Prof. Mahmoud El-Meligy - Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development held a meeting today, Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with the automation and digital transformation team of the community service and environmental development sector, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Hussein Handousa - Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Computer and Information sciences and Head of the Automation and Digital Transformation Team, and team members.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Mahmoud El-Meligy welcomed all the attendees and presented the objectives of the meeting, which are to discuss the team's work plan and develop Key performance indicators on which periodic follow-up reports will be made for the team's performance.
Then Dr. Mohamed Handousa began to clarify the vision and objectives of the team, which is the continuous development of the digital systems of the sector, Proposing and applying of new digital systems that contribute to achieve the standards of the smart university.
The team identified a number of trends that will be worked on to achieve these goals, which are to support other teams and provide technical advice in the field of digital transformation, developing a system that manages all training centers of the university, which allows registering courses, booking and payment electronically, creating an integrated database which contains all the trainers inside the university, Developing a system for managing vehicles on campus and issuing car permits electronically, Establishing a security and safety system that allows reporting any danger on campus electronically and following up the course of dealing with each report, Establishing a digital platform for graduates that contains all the services required to support continuous communication between the university and its graduates, Developing a digital system for managing hotels affiliated to the university that automates the process of reservation, payment, housing and management of rooms and providing the necessary reports to take appropriate decisions, in addition to developing electronic systems that already exist and add the required services to them.
Al-Meligy also stressed the need to keep pace with the development in the field of technology and the use of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and the virtual reality with metaverse technology, where it was proposed to make smart bicycle system, smart irrigation system for university gardens, smart waiting system for vehicles, and a system for roaming inside the campus, In conclusion, he stressed the need to make a realistic implementation plan for these proposals and cooperate with the other teams to obtain support and be able to implement these constructive proposals and achieve the desired goals.
