Basset, Mansoura University President, met a delegation of “STESSA” Project Representatives to prepare teachers of secondary schools for Excelled Students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics STEM Schools on Tuesday 15^th January,2019.

The delegation included a group of Professors from different American Universities: Dr. Joseph Milinio, Dr. Rich Dedio, Dr. John Kevin, Dr. Mohet Patel and Emily Walter.

The visit aims at establishing a cooperation protocol between Mansoura University and “STESSA” Project through the Faculty of Education in collaboration with the Faculties of Science and Engineering. The cooperation aims to develop the training programs of STEM Schools teachers, Faculty of Education’s teachers preparation programs. Also, the cooperation targets different cadres of teachers and their development to work within the intended project. It also aims to set up a new specialized Diploma to qualify graduates to work in Stem Schools with the purpose of raising the quality of education and Learning in Stem Schools in Egypt by preparing a qualified teacher able to care for Excelled Students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; applying new curricula and methodology that depend on survey projects and integrated approach to teaching; achieving integration between courses of Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology that reveal the link between these fields; preparing a student capable of  designing, creating and thinking critically; training the student on co-operative learning; in addition to preparing a distinguished scientific base for University Education and scientific research in a way that achieves the aims of these schools including developing sense of belonging to our country; and finally providing Study system and Curricula that necessitate research, survey and working in groups in human and natural sciences. Scholar exchange is to be carried out between the Professors of Education in “STESSA” Project in the USA and Egyptian professors in the Faculties of Education, Science, and Engineering.
