The President of Mansoura University follows up on the work progress rates in new facilities in the education sector
Today, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, inspected a number of new facilities in the education sector, to follow up on their progress and study the obstacles to implementation on the ground.
In the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
This visit comes within the framework of a series of planned visits, to follow up on ongoing projects at the university, in order to achieve the university’s policy of developing educational facilities in all sectors to transform into fourth generation universities and universities with environmentally friendly designs.
During the tour, he inspected what had been accomplished with the construction of the new College of Computers and Information building, which is planned to be a building that fulfills the conditions of smart buildings and buildings with green technology, in the presence of Professor Dr. Magdy Zakaria, Dean of the College, Mrs. Professor Dr. Noha Heikal, Vice Dean of the College for Environmental Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Tahhiyeh, supervisor of the project.
The building is being constructed on an area of 900 square meters as a first phase. It consists of a basement, a ground floor, and 6 upper floors to accommodate the increasing number of students in the college and to expand the establishment of new programs in the college that suit future jobs and the needs of the labor market, since the currently available places no longer meet the needs of the educational process. In the college, the new expansions include (4) auditoriums with a capacity of 500 students, (15-20) computer labs, (5) specialized laboratories, an examination hall, a seminar hall, faculty members’ offices, and administrative offices. It is also planned that the new building will be connected to In the main building of the college.
His Excellency also inspected the construction of the central student building at the College of Engineering and was received during the visit by Professor Dr. Sherif Badawy Al-Qaim, Dean of the College of Engineering, and the college’s deputies, Dr. Salah Al-Bajlaty, who is supervising the project.
It is being built on an area of 2,400 square meters as the largest educational building at the university. It consists of a basement, a ground floor, and 6 recurring floors. It includes a number of amphitheaters, drawing halls, a large theater, and a number of research and service laboratories for all specializations, a digital library, and a complex for student activities, which is planned to be a complex. Smart education to keep pace with developments and meet the college’s needs to keep pace with global changes in engineering education.
His Excellency concluded the tour by inspecting the progress of work on the (Appendix A) project in the new Faculty of Law building. He was received during the visit by Professor Dr. Walid El-Shenawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Salah El-Bajlaty, supervisor of the project.
The new building is being constructed on an area of 875 square metres. It consists of a lower floor, a ground floor, and 5 upper floors. It was designed according to the latest architectural and construction systems to take into account the principles of environmental sustainability. The principles of smart design were also taken into account in the finishing stages. According to the university’s desire to keep pace with the latest international systems for similar projects and for the building to be a model for applying future thought, the building also has a classic architectural character similar to the Supreme Constitutional Court.
