Monitoring the completion rates of new facilities in the education and hospital sectors

Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, confirmed that the Egyptian state, headed by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, is interested in developing all the services provided by Egyptian universities, including Mansoura University, and the university is currently completing the development plan through several projects at the level of the education sector to keep pace with modern developments in Infrastructure as well as hospital sector projects, given the many medical services the medical sector provides to all the people of the Delta.
This comes during an inspection tour by the President of Mansoura University, today, Monday, January 8, 2024 AD, to inspect a number of new facilities in the education and hospital sectors, to follow up on their work progress rates, in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Professor Dr. Ashraf. Shouma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Dr. Sherif Badawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
This is within the framework of a series of planned visits, to follow up on ongoing projects at the university, in order to achieve the university’s policy of developing facilities in all sectors to transform into fourth generation universities and universities with environmentally friendly designs.
During the tour, he inspected what had been accomplished with the construction of the educational building at the College of Medicine.
The educational building is a major addition to the educational buildings at the College of Medicine to accommodate the increasing number of students. It was built on an area of 2000 square metres, and consists of a basement, a ground floor, eight upper floors and a service floor. Interior finishing work is currently being carried out, as the building has 4 amphitheaters with a capacity of 450 students per amphitheater. There are 2 laboratories with a capacity of 140 students, 5 small auditoriums, 40 student classrooms (PPL rooms), a computer hall and central control for exams, and 18 administrative rooms.
His Excellency also inspected the Experimental Medical Research Center (MERC) project.
This project is considered an important national project for the scientific research system in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as the center serves a wide sector of researchers in various scientific fields at the university (medicine - pharmacy - dentistry - science) as well as other universities. It also provides training opportunities for students of colleges in the medical sector and residency. Training courses, as the center was able to spread locally and internationally, and received many awards and grants from various parties. Therefore, the university embarked on establishing an independent center for applied research, and the concrete structure of the center, ground floor and four floors, is being completed, knowing that the project is fully finished.
The university president also inspected the construction completed in the new oncology center building
In the presence of Professor Dr. Walid Al-Nahhas, Director of the Oncology Center, Professor Dr. Adel Fathi, Deputy Director of the Center, and Dr. Omar Fathi, Professor at the Digestive System Center.
The new building consists of 8 floors, including 2 basement floors and 6 upper floors, which are outpatient clinics and services for oncology center patients. The building will be equipped with 3 radiation therapy machines, including 2 radiation accelerator machines and 1 local radiation machine.
His Excellency inspected what had been accomplished in the new liver transplant building at the Digestive Surgery Center, in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, supervisor of the liver transplant team, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Shehta, Deputy Director of the Center.
The new liver transplant building at Mansoura University is being completed under the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to eliminate waiting lists for liver transplant patients, and it is the first in Egypt and the Middle East under this name.
The building consists of 9 floors. The building contains the ground floor, which is designated for services and mechanization, 6 outpatient clinic rooms, 3 operating rooms, 14 intensive care beds, 5 recovery beds, and 56 beds for patient accommodation. The ninth floor includes endoscopy units, research, and laboratories.

During the tour, His Excellency inquired about the level of medical services provided to patients, as well as electronic services, including the outpatient clinic ticket reservation system.
The university president also inspected the renovations of some units and departments at the main university hospital, where he inspected the renovations of the nuclear medicine department and the equipment that was made to install the linear processor device to treat oncology patients, as well as the main fire-fighting system.
