Activities of the first day of the Mansoura University integrated convoy “Bridges of Goodness-21” to the city of Shalatin
Today, Saturday, May 18, 2024 AD, the activities of the Mansoura University integrated convoy “Bridges of Goodness-21” to Halayeb, Shalatin, and Abu Ramad began, during the period from May 17-21, 2024 AD.
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, Major General Amr El Hanafi, Governor of the Red Sea, Major General Staff Amr Gamil, Commander of the Southern Region, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Which aims to provide comprehensive services in coordination with the Red Sea Governorate, the Ministry of Solidarity, and the concerned authorities to provide all support, care, and integrated services.
Mr. Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater followed the convoy’s work and stated that the medical convoy’s efforts resulted in a total of (773) beneficiary medical cases. He also expressed his gratitude to all the parties that supported the convoy to facilitate the convoy’s mission in the governorate and their follow-up to it.
The activities of the first day of the convoy in the city of Shalatin included several activities aimed at meeting the needs of the local population in the region.
Professor Dr. Ghada Al-Qunaishi, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine and Head of the Medical Team, announced that the medical convoy conducted, throughout the day, medical examinations of the families for (773) cases in various medical specialties, 118 children’s cases, 10 heart, 66 dermatology, 102 internal, 85 orthopedic, and 40 surgical cases. 111 eyes, 20 optometrists, 67 nose and ears, 52 teeth, 39 chest, 15 urinary tract, 30 women, 18 brain and nerves, with free treatment for all cases from the convoy’s pharmacy, and (20) minor operations, 18 surgical spare parts, and (11) transfers. 1 orthopedic case, 2 surgeries, 5 eyes, and 3 teeth to hospitals and medical centers at Mansoura University to perform the necessary medical examinations and surgeries.
The team of the Community Awareness Committee at Mansoura University, headed by Prof. Dr. Sahar Al-Dakrouri, also raised awareness of the harms of smoking and addictive substances, misuse of medications, how to prevent and quit, and raised awareness of the family counseling program, balanced upbringing, positive parenting methods, pre-marital examinations, and the golden thousand days.
Awareness was raised in the hospital for 70 male and female students, and awareness was raised at the Palace of Culture in Shalatin for 40 middle and high school students.
The activities of the first day of the Decent Life Caravan at the university included the team presenting gifts, games, and a number of entertainment segments aimed at raising children’s communication and belonging skills, as well as organizing dialogue meetings with families and youth to highlight the role of the state in terms of social responsibility and promoting the values of loyalty and belonging.
Coordination and agreement were made with the Halayeb and Shalatin Reserves Development Association to organize a charitable clothing exhibition open to the families of the first to be sponsored to display clothes bearing the name “Bridges of Goodness 21” at Mansoura University.
The veterinary medical convoy was headed by Professor Dr. Muhammad Jabr, Professor of Pharmaceuticals and Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Professor Dr. Awad Rizk, Professor of Surgery, Anesthesia and Radiology, Professor Dr. Hossam Muhammad Ibrahim, Professor of Internal Medicine, and Professor Dr. Mamdouh Saeed, Consultant in Obstetrics, Reproduction and Artificial Insemination.
Medical examinations were conducted on more than 1,500 heads of sheep and goats, and treatment and vaccinations were provided to all sick animals free of charge from the convoy’s veterinary pharmacy, in addition to providing the necessary awareness and guidance to breeders in these gatherings.
