Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, held a meeting today, Wednesday, May 12, 2024 AD, with members of the project committee for establishing the “Developed Therapeutic Services Building for the Emergency Hospital.”

In the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Secretary General of the University, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shouma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Yasser Lotfy, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. El-Shaarawy Kamal, Executive Director of Hospitals and Medical Centers, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Gamal, Project Director, Prof. Dr. Bassem Salah Wadih, Director of the Kidney and Urology Center, Prof. Dr. Amir Fikry, Director of the Emergency Hospital, Prof. Dr. Magdy Bashir, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saleh Nawab, Director of the Hospital.
During the meeting, the functional program and the engineering plan were discussed, as well as the completion of the initial procedures, the inauguration of the project, the laying of the foundation stone in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, and the executive time plan for the project.
Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater confirmed that the project to establish the advanced therapeutic services building for the emergency hospital is a national project and will be a great addition to the medical system in university hospitals. To serve patients from various governorates of the Delta, indicating that it is planned that the developed therapeutic services building for the Emergency Hospital at Mansoura University, after its implementation, will add a greater capacity for patients. The project will add a capacity of 250 beds, bringing the total number of beds for the emergency hospital to 480 beds.
This is in order to serve the medical and health sector in the governorate and the Delta region in order to relieve pressure on the old emergency hospital, which provides urgent medical care, first aid, and emergency services to citizens and accident victims in the Dakahlia governorate and the Delta governorates, after the great pressure on the old emergency hospital increased and the number of people attending it exceeded more. Of 200 thousand patients annually.
The university president called on all community institutions, civil society organizations, and capable individuals to contribute to the implementation and equipping of the therapeutic services building developed for the emergency hospital to speed up its completion as soon as possible, to contribute to the treatment of thousands of accident, critically ill, and emergency patients.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim reviewed the engineering plan and the executive time plan for the project, noting that the engineering drawings for the new building, which will be constructed on an area of ​​1,400 square meters, have been completed.
It consists of a ground floor and nine upper floors. The building contains a full floor for emergency reception, two floors for the Ministry of Health, floors for operations, intensive care, recovery, laboratories, internal accommodation, and ancillary services. It also includes a special floor for receiving kidney center patients and a reception for dental patients.
