Also present were Prof. Dr. Tarek Gloush, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Amina Shalaby, Chairperson of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia, Prof. Dr. Walid El-Shennawy, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Deans and Vice Deans of various faculties, Assistant Secretaries, Colonel Mohamed Abdel Bari, Director of the Military Education Department, the ideal mothers at the university, faculty members, administrative staff, and university students.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater extended his greetings and appreciation to the ideal mothers of Mansoura University on the occasion of Mother's Day, emphasizing that mothers are the cornerstone of the Egyptian family, the endless source of giving, and the foundation of society as a whole.
The President of the university also expressed his happiness that this year's celebration coincides with Martyrs' Day and the 10th of Ramadan, a day Egypt fought its noblest battles. He sent a message of gratitude to the martyrs who set an example in sacrifice for the survival of this nation, preserving the dignity of our people and paving the way for stability and security to continue the process of construction and development, serving as a testament to the strength of this country and the determination of its people.
Prof. Dr. Khater expressed his respect for Egyptian women, emphasizing his personal pride in this event, which Mansoura University organizes annually to show a small part of our respect for their honorable role as partners in struggle, success, building, and work. He also pointed out that Egyptian women contribute a lot and deserve much. They are the source of the nation's energy and strength.
The President also praised the priority the Egyptian state has given to the issue of women, based on the belief of the political leadership, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, that stability and progress will only be achieved through ensuring effective participation of women in all aspects of national work. This is through supporting and empowering Egyptian women to be a central part of all the pillars of the state's comprehensive development plan. This has had a significant impact on providing Egyptian women with important benefits and placing them in the position they deserve, in recognition of their values, abilities, and sacrifices throughout history, in line with the Egyptian Constitution, which enshrines the values of justice and equality, and in alignment with Egypt's Vision 2030 and its sustainable development strategy.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim pointed out that International Women's Day is on March 8, while Egyptian Women's Day is celebrated on March 21. This timing was seen as a brilliant choice, as it falls between International Women's Day and World Water Day, which is on March 22. This year’s event is particularly special as it coincides with the commemoration of the 10th of Ramadan and Martyrs' Day, emphasizing the role of women in society's development. Therefore, this honoring of the ideal mothers is a symbol of celebration for all the women of Egypt.
Dr. Walid El-Shennawy welcomed hosting the ceremony to honor mothers on their annual day, extending his warmest congratulations to the great mothers of Egypt, recognizing the historic and pioneering role of Egyptian mothers in various fields. They are the backbone of the family and a key partner in the development of society.
Dr. Amina Shalaby, Chairperson of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia, expressed her respect, admiration, and love for every mother in Egypt on behalf of the National Council for Women. She affirmed the continuous support of Mansoura University in empowering women, noting that honoring mothers is not just a celebration of a single occasion but an ongoing commitment to achieving justice and equality for them. She also extended her appreciation to the organizing team of the event.
The ceremony included a speech by Dr. Amal Al-Qaddah, the ideal mother of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, one of the ideal mothers honored by the university, and Mrs. Samia Abdel Hamid, daughter of the martyr Colonel Abdel Hamid Saleh.
