A Joint Meeting between Mansoura University and Dakahlia Governorate to Discuss the University's Proposed Plans to Participate in the National Project for Developing the Egyptian Countryside
From the belief of Mansoura University in its community role and in the framework of collaboration with the governorate of Dakahlia and all entities and institutions participating in the national project for developing the Egyptian countryside, within the framework of the initiative "A Decent Life", and in accordance to the instructions of Dr. Ayman Mokhtar, Governor of Dakahlia, and Prof. Ashraf Abd Al-Baset, President of Mansoura University;
Dr. Haitham Al-Sheik, Deputy Governor of Dakahlia, and Prof. Mahmoud Al-Meligi, Vice-President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environmental Development, met this evening with the coordinators and heads of the proposals and implementation plans for the university's participation in the National Project for Developing the Egyptian Countryside, The meeting was to discuss the mechanisms and proposed plans for the participation in the development of 26 villages of Sharbin, which were selected for development as part of the "Decent Life" initiative.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Mahmoud Al-Meligi welcomed Dr. Haitham Al-Sheik and the attendees from the university and the governorate, He then confirmed that the university as a home of expertise will strongly support the success of the initiative and the contribution of developing the Egyptian countryside, in addition to involving the students and graduates of the University from these villages in identifying problems on the ground and monitoring the actual needs of the residents of these villages.
The meeting then discussed the main points of the proposals and executive plans submitted by the coordinators, which were prepared to clarify the mechanisms of their implementation in the villages, where it touched on all fields and axes through which the university will participate, namely the field of Comprehensive and Integrated Convoys, Training for SMEs, Eliminating Illiteracy, Combating Addiction, Entrepreneurship, Anti-Violence Against Women, Self- Development Trainings, Mawada Initiative and raising awareness for those who are about to get married, Digital Transformation and Digital Literacy, Development of Slums, Development of Public Schools through the provision of whiteboard and infrastructure development, supporting people with disabilities, developing children's talents and providing care for them, studying social problems in villages and studying ways of solving them, Entrepreneurship and training the administrative apparatus).
For his part, Dr. Haitham Al-Sheik praised the University's proposals and expressed his happiness with the participation of Mansoura University in this national project, stressing the need to translate the great efforts made in these plans and proposals into developmental work so that the citizen feels the desired change on the ground.
Al-Meligy also stressed the need to adopt the concept of sustainability in implementing these submitted proposals and the executive plans through the training of cadres in each village, in order to ensure the maximum benefit and ensure the continuity of development and achieve the maximum benefit and success of the initiative. Also, Al-Sheikh pointed out that the Governorate will make all its efforts to provide all methods of support and remove any obstacles that stand in the way of the implementation of these proposals and plans and stressed that there will be no complacency or negligence and there will be cooperation from all entities and institutions to contribute to the success of the initiative.
