The Opening of the “She Leads” Forum at Mansoura University
This morning, the activities of the "She Leads" forum started coinciding with the special celebrations organized by Mansoura University on International Women's Day in appreciation of her enduring efforts and sacrifices, Mansoura University Community Service and Environmental Development Sector in collaboration with The Anti-Violence Against Women Unit organized this forum from 28th of March till 3rd of April, 2021,
Under the auspices of Prof. Ashraf Mohammed Abdul Basit, President of Mansoura University, Prof. Mahmoud Mohammed Al-Meliji, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the leadership of Prof. Tarek Mustafa Ghalloush, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, and Prof. Samah Tarek Hafez, vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Community Service Affairs. AL-Mahrousa Students Team of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector took part in organizing the event.
On the sidelines of the forum, Prof . Mahmoud Al-Meliji welcomed Prof. Amina Shalabi, President of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia, Former Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Ms. Shaimaa Naim, General Director of the General Department of Strategic Management, Ms. Safa Habib, General Director of The ceremony at the National Council for Women, and Ms. Maha Rateb, Communication and Support Analyst at UN-Women, they then watched the film "Between Two Seas” “Ben Bahrin" in the conference hall of the Faculty of Commerce, which discusses the issue of FGM and its dangerous consequences for the individuals and society as a whole. Then, the movie screening was followed by a panel discussion on the movie during which the topic of FGM was addressed, along with its different legal, psychological and cultural aspects.
At the end of the seminar, Al-Meligy suggested the screening of this movie in small villages in order to raise up people’s awareness with regard to this criminal phenomenon of FGM. Also, prof. Glosh expressed his happiness that the Faculty of Commerce hosted the opening activities of the "She Leads" forum and expressed his thanks, gratitude and appreciation for the outstanding role played by women in society.
