Launching the activities of “Jusoor Al-Khair (19)” convoy in Bir al-Abd, North Sinai Governorate

Today, Monday morning, May 29, 2023, the activities of the Mansoura University “Jusoor Al-Khair (19)” convoy began in the city of Bir al-Abd, under the auspices of Prof. Sherif Khater - President of Mansoura University, Staff Major General / Mohamed Rabie - Commander of the Second Field Army, and headed by Prof. Mahmoud El-Meligy - Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, which aims to provide comprehensive services to the people of the poorest and most needy villages in North Sinai Governorate.

The events of the first day of the convoy included several activities aimed at meeting the needs of the local population in the region, where medical cases were reported to the convoy by the leadership of the Second Field Army at Bir al-Abd Model Hospital in coordination with Mansoura University, and it consisted of the following specialties (internal medicine - eyes - children - ear, nose and throat - general surgery Chest - Psychiatry - Oncology Surgery - Gastrointestinal Surgery - Oral and Dental Medicine - Anesthesia) The convoy was supported with the following specialties from Bir Al-Abd Model Hospital in order to provide an integrated medical service to serve the people of the center and city of Bir Al-Abd (orthopedics - skin and reproductive surgery - urology surgery - heart And blood vessels - Obstetrics and Gynecology - Neurology - Physiotherapy - Safe injection clinic - Spare clinic). The convoy was also supported by laboratory tests and radiology.

Prof. Dr. Ghada Al-Qunaishi - Director of Medical Affairs in the convoy announced the signing of the medical examination and conducting the necessary tests for (1018) cases in various medical specialties, with the disbursement of treatment for all cases free of charge from the convoy's pharmacy, in addition to performing (11) surgeries, and transferring (17) cases to hospitals and medical centers at Mansoura University to conduct the necessary medical examinations and surgeries.

Also the efforts of the Childhood Care and Development Center team at the university resulted in the organization of a number of recreational and educational activities, where Prof. Wafa Abu Al-Maati - Director of the Childhood Care and Development Center at the university stated that the center's team provided throughout the day a number of recreational activities for more than (85) children, where a workshop was organized to recycle metal cans and make money piggy banks, also workshop for the making of paper games (dog _ crown) of colored paper and foam were organized, in addition to face painting and distributing Gifts and sweets for children who are with their parents in the hospital.

The activities of the convoy are scheduled to continue until Thursday, June 1, 2023.
