Diversity of beneficiaries of the college’s community services: A visit to the Hope House for the Elderly and a symposium on “ Therapeutic Nutrition for the Elderly ”
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater - President of the University and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim - Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif - Dean of the College... and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Doaa. Samir Hazza - Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs... Prof. Dr. Sherif Gamal Saad... Head of the Hotel Studies Department... and organized by Prof. Rania Al-Sayed Ahmed - Head of the Community Service and Caravans Department... Organized by the Hotel Studies Department in cooperation with the Service Department Society and Caravans “A Visit to the Home of Hope for the Elderly” as part of the college’s plan for community awareness of tourism, history, archaeology and the environment for the academic year 2023/2024..
The activities were as follows:
1 - Verses from the Holy Quran; In the voice of the student: Hamed Abdullah Mahmoud Othman; Fourth year, Department of Hotel Studies.
2- A welcome speech she delivered. Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, to clarify the purpose of the visit and the community role of the College.
3- A symposium entitled “Therapeutic Nutrition for the Elderly”.. delivered by Dr. Shaima Ali Fawzi - Lecturer in the Department of Hotel Studies.. during which she discussed the elements of food - the digestive system - the factors that affect meal planning for the elderly - meal planning for the elderly - reducing the problems of physiological changes Which affects the nutritional status of the elderly - the psychological, social and physiological functions of food.
4- A section on cultural competitions and popular proverbs presented by Rania Al-Sayed Ahmed. Head of the College's Department of Community Service and Caravans.
5- An open dialogue between our fathers and mothers and the college employees participating in the visit.
6 - Religious supplications and chants... performed by student/ Hamid Abdullah Mahmoud Othman.
At the end of the visit, some souvenirs and flowers were presented to our fathers and mothers.
