On Monday, February 19, 2024, a delegation from the World Stroke Organization visited university hospitals, the three medical centers, the emergency hospital, and the College of Medicine. At the head of the visitors was Professor Sheila Martens - President of the World Stroke Organization. The delegation inspected the reception of the hospitals, medical centers, intensive care rooms, and The recovery rooms, observation and examination rooms. The delegation also inspected the diagnostic radiology department and learned about the complete path of a stroke patient when he is received, the necessary examinations are performed, and treatment begins. This is in preparation for the organization’s accreditation of the stroke unit as one of the approved units for treating stroke patients worldwide.
The delegation was accompanied during the visit by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Minshawy - Head of the Department of Neurology, Prof. Dr. Amir Fekry - Director of the Emergency Hospital, Prof. Dr. Wissam Fathy, Prof. Khaled Al-Toukhi, and a group of gentlemen faculty members in the Department of Medicine.
