On Monday, February 19, 2024, the Faculty of Engineering hosted a symposium within the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels initiative, “Know Your Country... A Tour of Egypt’s Tourist Landmarks.” The college’s plan for tourism, archaeological, historical and environmental community awareness... Dr. Sarah Ali Hamayel lectured on it; Lecturer in the Department of Tourism Guidance at the College of Tourism and Hotels..
The symposium began with a speech by Prof. Dr. Amira Yasin Heikal, during which Her Excellency welcomed the cooperation between the community service and environmental development sectors in both colleges and pointed out the importance of awareness seminars in motivating the community to visit various tourist attractions in Egypt.
Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza noted: To the importance of the tourism industry and its being one of the sources of national income and hard currencies, the importance of domestic tourism, especially in times of crisis, the role of tourism activity in deepening belonging to our beloved Egypt... and the importance of the multiplier effect of tourism spending...
Then a lecture by Dr. Sarah Ali Hamayel; In it, I accompanied the employees of the Faculty of Engineering on a virtual tourist tour in the city of Alexandria... where Alexandria originated, the cities that bear the same name in various parts of the world, and the history of the city of Alexandria through the ages... and the most prominent tourist and archaeological landmarks, the Pillar of the Pillars - Kom el-Shoqafa - the Library of Alexandria - the Lighthouse of Alexandria. - The Royal Jewelery Museum - the Roman Theater and other landmarks worth visiting... At the end of the symposium, the floor was opened for questions and discussion...
A questionnaire was also designed to obtain the opinions of attendees
