“Tourism and Environmental Sustainability” symposium at the Egyptian Public Library.. February 26, 2024

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim; Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs...and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif; Dean of the College.. and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza; Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs... and Mr. Iman Aboul Gheit; Director of the Egypt Public Library in Mansoura... The library hosted, on Monday, February 26, 2024, the third event of the academic year 2023/2024 for cooperation between the college and the library, with a symposium within the plan of the Community Service and Caravans Department at the college for tourism, archaeological, historical and environmental community awareness... Know Your Country initiative... a tour of the landmarks Tourism Egypt... entitled "Tourism and Environmental Sustainability".
Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza confirmed; On the community role of the college in tourism, historical, archaeological and environmental awareness in Dakahlia Governorate and various Delta governorates.
Mrs. Iman Aboul Gheit noted: To the role of the library in developing tourism and archaeological awareness and cooperation with the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Mansoura University, in raising tourism awareness among members of the community..
Then a lecture by Dr. Israa Ahmed Abdel Majeed; Director of the Graduate Follow-up Unit at the College of Tourism and Hotels; During which it discussed the definition of tourism, its types, the natural and human components of tourism - the definition of the environment and the components of the ecosystem - tourism development and its elements and the environmental impacts of the tourism industry - and light was also shed on World Environment Day and tourism development projects in Egypt - the concept of sustainable development and its development - and the sustainable development goals of the United Nations 2030 and the best ten. Countries around the world are making progress towards implementing sustainable development. Sustainable tourism development, its most important principles, the difference between traditional and sustainable tourism development, environmentally sustainable consumer behavior, and the foundations of the balance between tourism development and the environment were also discussed, as well as Egypt’s current situation towards achieving sustainable development goals - as well as shedding light on the relationship between climate change, tourism activity, and policies for adapting to it...and in At the end of the symposium, the floor was opened for questions and discussion.
