Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater - President of Mansoura University and leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim - Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Latif - Dean of the College, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza - Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sahar Al-Dakrouri - Chairman of the Community Awareness Committee of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at Mansoura University, and organized by Prof. Heba Al-Imam Hussein - Head of the Department of Environmental Projects and Cultural Coordination.
On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the College of Tourism and Hotels hosted a symposium on “Sustainable Development and Green Job Opportunities” within the plan of the university’s Community Awareness Committee.
Presented by Prof. Dr. Sahar Abdel Aziz Al-Dakrouri; Chairman of the Committee - Dr. Amal Younis; Member of the committee and director of the Program Planning and Project Implementation Department at the University’s General Department of Environmental Projects. In the presence of Mr. Ahmed Raslan; Political Education Officer in Dakahlia Governorate, and representatives from the faculty members, the supporting staff, the college’s administrative staff, and the students.
Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza explained: The importance of sustainable development, its concept, and the importance of the university’s efforts in spreading awareness of sustainable development among its employees.
Prof. Dr. Sahar Al-Dakrouri discussed: The various sources of environmental pollution and its relationship to climate change, the carbon footprint, plastic pollutants and their harmful effects on health, the importance of recycling waste, and turning to clean energy sources to reduce the carbon footprint.
Dr. Amal Younis discussed: Sustainable development goals and the state’s efforts to confront climate change by establishing smart green projects, solar power plants, moving toward electric cars, and providing job opportunities for youth in these projects.
As Prof. Dr. Samah Khamis pointed out: Committee coordinator for the various community awareness committee activities in all colleges, which aim to educate male and female students, the administrative sector, and faculty members.
