Opening of the “Egyptian Women” charity market

The President of Mansoura University inaugurates the charity market “Six Egyptian Women”
Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, opened this morning, Wednesday, March 6, the activities of the “Six Egyptian Women” charity market, which is organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Mansoura University, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim - Vice President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. In cooperation with the National Council for Women, headed by Dr. Maya Morsi, from March 6 to 10, 2024.
He was accompanied during the opening by Professor Dr. Tariq Ghaloush, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Professor Dr. Amina Shalaby, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women in Dakahlia.
Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater explained that holding these exhibitions comes in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic to focus on building people, investing in people, improving the standard of living of citizens and the most needy groups, and providing them with a decent life in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Pointing out that the launch of the activities of this market comes within the framework of the social responsibility adopted by the university and the interest in reviving traditional crafts, products and handicrafts produced by female breadwinners and working to market their products within the framework of the role assigned to support the economic empowerment of women.
Emphasizing the university’s keenness to cooperate with various parties, bodies and institutions that aim to provide assistance to the most needy groups on a regular basis as one of the factors that positively influence the growth of the local product and achieve economic development. Professor Dr. Amina Shalaby indicated that the Egyptian Six Women’s Exhibition is a series of markets or Exhibitions for the branch of the National Council for Women aim to market handmade products to women and girls with the aim of economic empowerment for women, especially since the majority of these women are breadwinners. It also aims to encourage girls to establish small and micro projects.
Contact was made with the colleges to select female students who had the desire to participate, so that 25% of the market’s models were women with breadwinners, numbering approximately 35 models in the fields of accessories, crochet, food, macrame, artwork, bedding, resin and decoupage workshop products, sportswear, and bags of various materials and levels to suit. All tastes.
It is worth noting that the exhibition is organized in partnership with the Choose Your Project Initiative Committee at the university under the supervision of the initiative’s coordinators: Prof. Dr. Al-Metwally Abu Sari’, Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Dr. Abeer Tawakkol, Rapporteur of the Committee, Prof. Shahira Hamed, National Council for Women, Prof. Jihan Hafez, National Council for Women.
The exhibition continues from March 6 to 10, coinciding with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan and Egyptians’ celebrations of Mother’s Day.
