Mansoura University in cooperation with Dakahlia Governorate organizes an environmental day within the initiative "Beginning to Build the Egyptian Human"
The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Mansoura University organized the "Environmental Day" activities within the framework of the presidential initiative "Beginning to Build the Egyptian Human" and within the framework of cooperation between Mansoura University and Dakahlia Governorate
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University and Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, and organized by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and supervised by Professor Ashraf El-Deeb, Assistant Secretary for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Mustafa Amin, Director General of Environmental Projects. Today, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the "Environmental Day" activities were launched. The activities will take place over the course of October 2 and 3, 2024, in the streets of Al-Gomhoria, Jihan, Ahmed Al-Husseini, and Toshka, with the participation of 50 male and female students from various faculties at Mansoura University, in cooperation between various sectors at Mansoura University and Dakahlia Governorate, including the General Administration of Environmental Projects at the University, the General Administration of Administrative Affairs, and the Executive Authority in the East and West Districts. The activities included removing waste, cleaning the university's outer wall, and creating architectural drawings and graphic arts on the university's outer wall, participating in the development of the squares. Professor Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater stressed that the university always seeks to contribute to achieving environmental sustainability through its participation in important national initiatives that aim to protect and care for the environment. He also pointed out that this activity comes as part of the university's strategic plan to enhance its role in serving the community and instilling the values of environmental awareness among students, expressing his appreciation for the university's cooperation with Dakahlia Governorate and various local authorities to support these national environmental initiatives. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained the importance of enhancing cooperation between the university and local authorities in the field of environmental sustainability, noting that the event contributes to raising the level of environmental awareness among students and enhancing the concept of environmental conservation, to contribute to protecting the environment and motivating individuals to care for the surrounding environment to make it cleaner and safer with the aim of protecting it, based on the university’s strategy and its social responsibility in cooperating with service institutions to serve the sustainable development plan and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
