With the participation of 512 blind people, Mansoura University celebrates the International White Cane Day.
Within the framework of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning to Build a Human Being", the General Administration of Environmental Projects in the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Mansoura University organized today, Monday 10/14/2824, at the Nile Club, the celebration of the International White Cane Day under the slogan "People of Insight"
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Walid Abu Samra, Director of the Ophthalmology Center, Dr. Walid Al-Tantawi, Assistant Secretary for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ashraf Al-Deeb, Assistant Secretary for Administrative Affairs, Colonel / Mohamed Abdel Bari, Director of the Military Education Department, Dr. Abdel Rahman Mujahid, Director of the Nile Club, Dr. Mohamed El-Adl, Deputy Director of the Center for People of Determination, and Dr. Mustafa Amin, Director General of Environmental Projects, and a group of deans, college deputies, and faculty members.
The activities included a medical examination for people with visual impairment (eyes - internal medicine) with the dispensing of medications and transferring cases to Mansoura University hospitals for free through the Ophthalmology Center and the Specialized Internal Medicine Hospital.
This event comes to activate the university's societal and effective role in serving the community, especially people with disabilities inside and outside the university.
Teams from the faculties of (Arts - Fine Arts - Special Education - Early Childhood Education - Disability Services Center at the university) also participated, representing faculty members, employees and students to draw joy and happiness on children and adults with vision.
In fruitful cooperation between civil society organizations, most of the charitable associations affiliated with the Ministry of Social Solidarity participated.
Representatives from the Directorates of Education, Social Solidarity and Health also participated in the celebration.
A white cane and valuable souvenirs were distributed to all participants from the people of vision.
