Meeting on the Digital Transformation Project in University Hospitals, Wednesday, October 16, 2024

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University, and attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, the Executive Director of University Hospitals, the Directors of University Hospitals and Medical Centers, and a large number of doctors at the University Hospitals, to discuss the digital transformation project in the University Hospitals. The project aims to bring about a qualitative shift in the work mechanisms in hospitals by implementing modern digital systems that contribute to improving the efficiency of healthcare and facilitating administrative and medical processes.

The meeting discussed the importance of digital transformation in improving the quality of healthcare services provided, as the digital system enables the ability to link all hospital departments electronically to facilitate doctors' access to patients' health data immediately, which leads to providing treatment in a faster and more accurate manner. The project also contributes to enhancing effective resource management, reducing time wasted on routine procedures, and improving communication between doctors and the medical team.

Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim stressed during the meeting that this project comes within the University's strategy for sustainable development and achieving excellence in the field of healthcare and medical education. The challenges that may face the implementation of the project and how to overcome them were also discussed to ensure its success in the required manner, while emphasizing the need for close cooperation between all departments and the technical team to ensure that work proceeds according to the specified timetables.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to set a specific timetable for implementing the project, with the assignment of a specialized team to follow up on all stages of the digital transformation and submit periodic reports to ensure the achievement of the desired goals.
