On Thursday, November 7, 2024, the Faculty of Dentistry hosted the major educational seminar titled "Intellectual Security: Key Requirements of the 'Bidaya' Initiative for Human Development." The seminar was organized by the Mansoura Media Center, affiliated with the General Authority for Information, in collaboration with the Faculty's Community Service Sector, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of the University, and Dr. Diaa Rashwan, Chairman of the General Authority for Information.

This seminar comes as part of the General Authority for Information's support for the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Development," through holding public meetings carried out by the Internal Media Sector under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Yehia, Head of the Sector, via its centers spread across the country, aimed at raising awareness among citizens.

The seminar opened with a welcoming speech from Ms. Mayasa El-Menshawy, Head of the Developmental Media Unit at the Mansoura Media Center. She introduced the General Authority for Information, its campaigns, and its commitment to educating citizens and encouraging them to participate in presidential initiatives.

Ms. El-Menshawy emphasized that such initiatives play a pivotal role in societal development, leaving a significant social impact by strengthening social bonds, solidarity, and unity through activities, programs, and projects that benefit society. She noted that this requires the collective efforts of individuals and institutions, highlighting the importance of investing in human capital, particularly among the youth, to foster creative ideas and untapped potential.

Journalist Mr. Hazem Nasr, Head of the Journalists Syndicate in Dakahlia, expressed his happiness at the active participation of foreign students at the university, alongside their Egyptian peers. This, he said, was a clear indication of the Arab youth's dedication to cooperating in addressing the challenges facing the Arab region.

Mr. Nasr spoke about the successful presidential initiatives, including the 100 Million Health initiative and Egypt’s triumph in eliminating Hepatitis C, a dream realized for both citizens and doctors, especially dentists. He also discussed the Haya Karima (Decent Life) initiative, which has already made a profound impact on the villages included in the first phase, with the second phase set to begin in the coming weeks. He then highlighted the Bidaya for Human Development initiative, which focuses on investing in human capital across various sectors—health, education, culture, social issues, sports, and intellectual development—targeting all segments of society, regardless of age.

Mr. Nasr urged the youth present to be constructive members of society, noting that Egypt possesses a wealth of young talent, which is rare in many countries worldwide. He stressed that developing this human resource could fulfill Egypt's developmental goals and elevate it to the ranks of major global economies. He also encouraged them to be active in their communities, participate in initiatives, and come up with new ideas for initiatives that serve the welfare of the nation.

Dr. Said Gad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Community Service, discussed the university's various activities aimed at raising awareness among students, promoting teamwork, combating negative ideas, and instilling values and belonging through education. He emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities, setting goals, and striving to achieve them.

The seminar was overseen by Mr. Desouki Abdullah, Director General of East Delta Media, and Mr. Hamada Hamed, Director of the Mansoura Media Center.
