Central Delta Universities Integration Gathering Meeting
The first meeting of the Central Delta universities' gathering was held Tuesday morning, November 30, at the Community Service Hall in the general administration of Mansoura University in light of the directives on the need for coordination and integration between all universities located in the same geographical area to provide integrated and comprehensive services, And in order to activate the proposal for the integration of Egypt's universities, which was approved by the Supreme Council of Universities headed by Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, and The Secretariat of Prof. Mohammed Mustafa Latif, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Mahmoud Al-Meligi, Vice-President of Mansoura University for Community Service Affairs, welcomed the deputies and coordinators of the universities participating in the Central Delta Gathering. He conveyed to them the greetings of Prof. Ashraf Abd Al-Baset, the president of the University, and then began discussing ways of cooperation between the universities of the central Delta to implement presidential initiatives and development convoys to serve these universities.
During the meeting, a number of topics were discussed, including how the universities participating in the gathering will cooperate. And it was emphasized to the need for sustainability in dispatching integrated convoys to the areas that are most in need in both the central delta provinces and the border provinces, as well as the need for cooperation between the universities of the central delta in completing a comprehensive project in one of the areas to unify efforts and prevent their dispersal.
During the meeting, it was also agreed to the participation of the students of each university participating in the gathering in all the activities and events that are held, with the dissemination of the experience of Al-Mahrousa student team at Mansoura University and its participation in various community activities on all of the Central Delta Universities, so that these universities include a team of the same name with the possibility of graduates participating in this team according to specific controls
The meeting also touched on the celebration of Mansoura University's 50th anniversary and invited all the universities of the gathering to participate in all the activities of the celebration. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold a regular meeting every 3 months, where it was agreed to hold the next meeting on Monday, March 7, 2021 at Benha University, with a monthly meeting for the coordinators of the central Delta universities.
Also Dr. Samah Tariq Hafez-vice dean of the Faculty of Commerce for community service Affairs at Mansoura University, was selected as general coordinator of the gathering for one year.
