Today, Sunday, November 27, 2022, Prof. Mahmoud Muhammad al-Meligy - Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development held a meeting with the Executive Office of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women and the coordinators of the colleges from the unit, in the presence of Dr. Samah Al-Saeed - Lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Director of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, Mr. Ayoub Fathi - Lawyer at the General Administration of Legal Affairs and lawyer of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, members of the Executive Office of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, and coordinators of the colleges from the unit.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed El-Meligy welcomed all the attendees and presented the goals of the meeting, which are represented in launching the anti-violence and bullying team at the university, where he presented the terms of reference of the team, the activities and initiatives that it must implement to reach realistic results to solve all manifestations of violence and bullying on campus,

he also pointed to the need for a clear and real awareness activity that is well managed, organized and announced to increase student turnout and achieve the desired results, and the need to communicate with faculty members to spread awareness within lectures, he also stressed that the unit's activities must be intensified on a permanent and continuous basis, and to cooperate and integrate with the activities of the rest of the teams affiliated with the sector activities, such as cooperation with the community initiatives team to organize awareness seminars for secondary and preparatory school students in preparation for them before entering the university, He also emphasized that the university is in the process of taking all appropriate measures to address this type of violence, which is one of the worst types of violence because of the damage and psychological effects it causes. With faculty members to spread awareness within lectures.

The head of the team, Dr. Samah Al-Saeed, gave a quick presentation of the activities that were implemented in the previous period and clarified the work plan during the coming period, and stressed the full readiness of all team members to exert all efforts to achieve the desired goals of the team and reach the best results.

In his turn, Mr. Ayoub Fathi - the lawyer of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, talked about some types of complaints that were submitted in this regard and what types of penalties and procedures were taken to address these complaints, and he stressed that all investigations and procedures are carried out confidentially within the university without being informed by anyone in order to preserve the complainant's personality.

The meeting also touched upon discussing the proposals of the faculty coordinators from the unit, which resulted in some measures to be taken such as publishing the guide and explanatory video of the unit, the data of the coordinators and contact informations on the official websites of each faculty and the University's social media networks, an electronic form will be made to easily submit complaints and will be announced on the University's electronic platforms, It will be announced on the university's electronic platforms, It was also pointed out the possibility of benefiting from the graduation projects of the practical colleges to create electronic applications that serve the orientations of the team and the university.
