Code of professional conduct and the role of governance in quality accreditation in university hospitals
The activities of the second conference for administrators, entitled Governance and Anti-Corruption, organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector at the Mansoura Faculty of Medicine, concluded. It was held over two days under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Youssef Khater, President of Mansoura University, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service Affairs. And environmental development, and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shouma, Dean of the College of Medicine, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ghada Al-Qunaishi, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
Dr. Ghada Al-Qunaishi indicated that two workshops were held to provide the administrative staff with the skills that will help them carry out their work to the fullest extent. She added that the first workshop included a comprehensive explanation of the code of professional conduct in light of the fight against corruption.
Professor Dr. Ashraf Refaat El-Zeini, former Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, Mansoura University, lectured.
Which stressed the importance of having ethical standards that govern the professional performance of the public employee, which is what made the state tend to adopt the concept and idea of preparing codes of professional conduct. Accordingly, the code is an expression of the credibility of the individual’s relationship with his employer and the fulfillment of the rights of the service recipient.
The second workshop included “Regulatory Aspects of Hospital Accreditation,” in which Prof. Dr. Amir Mounir, Director of the Central Administration for Quality Assurance and Accreditation at Mansoura University Hospitals and Centers, pointed out the importance of the role of institutional governance in achieving the requirements for obtaining accreditation from the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control (Al-Jahar).
