The College of Medicine, in cooperation with the College of Tourism and Hotels, organized on Wednesday, April 3, 2024; A symposium within the College of Tourism and Hotels’ plan to raise community awareness of tourism, archaeology, history and the environment... Know Your Country initiative... a tour of Egypt’s tourist attractions... attended by Dr. Karim Ahmed Abdel Fattah, teacher in the Department of Tourism Guidance and supervisor of the Museum of Archaeological Models at the college.
The symposium began with a speech by Prof. Dr. Ghada Al-Qunaishi, during which she welcomed the cooperation between the community service and environmental development sectors in both colleges and pointed out the importance of awareness seminars in motivating the community to visit various tourist attractions in Egypt.
Prof. Dr. Doaa Samir Hazza noted: The importance of the tourism industry and its being one of the sources of national income and hard currencies, the importance of domestic tourism, especially in times of crises, and the role of tourism activity in deepening belonging to our beloved Egypt.
Then he accompanied Dr. Karim Ahmed Abdel Fattah; Employees of the Faculty of Medicine on a tour inside the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square... where they discussed the emergence of the Egyptian Museum and the attempts that preceded that establishment to establish a museum to preserve Egyptian antiquities. The façade and garden of the museum were also explained, in addition to the most prominent pieces in the museum, such as a copy of the Rosetta Stone, a prayer hall. Narmer, the statue of Khasekhem, the statue of Djoser, the paintings of Hesi-Ra, the statue of Khafre, the small statue of Khufu, the statue of Ra-hotep and Nefert, the statue of the dwarf Seneb and his family, the statue of Mentuhotep-neb-heb-re, groups of New Kingdom kings such as Tuthmosis III, Hatshepsut, Amenhotep III, Akhenaten And Tutankhamun.
