An integrated convoy in Kafr El-Wakala village - Sherbin under the auspices of Mansoura University achieves great success in providing comprehensive medical, veterinary and awareness services

Dakahlia, Sunday, August 25, 2024 - As part of the ongoing efforts to serve the community and develop the environment, Mansoura University organized today an integrated convoy in Kafr El-Wakala village affiliated to Sherbin Center in Dakahlia Governorate, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Azim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

The convoy came under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shoma, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Maha Abdo Mohamed El-Ashmawy, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Yasser Lotfy Abdel-Nabi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. The events were coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ghada Al-Qunaishi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Gabr, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Sayed Gad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The convoy was attended by the Faculties of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Dentistry, in addition to the Awareness Committee of the University's Environment Sector and the "Decent Life" Initiative of the University's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector.

The medical convoy witnessed the provision of comprehensive services for various medical specialties, where care was provided to:

Internal diseases: 80 cases
Pediatrics: 70 cases
Ophthalmology: 60 cases
Ear, nose and throat: 25 cases
Chest diseases: 30 cases
Dermatology: 100 cases
Cardiovascular: 15 cases
Gynecology and obstetrics: 40 cases
Orthopedics: 70 cases
Neurology: 40 cases
Dentistry: 35 cases,
With 53 cases transferred to complete treatment in university hospitals.
Veterinary Caravan Statistics:
The veterinary caravan examined and treated a large number of animals and birds, where they dealt with:

Cows and buffaloes: 520 cases
Sheep and goats: 150 cases
Poultry and rabbits: 2500 cases
Horses and beasts of burden: 95 cases
Participation of the Child Care and Development Center:
The caravan also witnessed effective participation from the Child Care and Development Center and the "Decent Life" Committee, where various activities were organized that benefited about 175 children between the ages of one and 14 years. These activities included:

A workshop for free drawing, coloring and printing with children.
A puppet theater that presented a story about "cooperation", in addition to sports games and competitions.
An interactive story to teach children to distinguish between different living environments.
Face painting and distributing gifts, toys and sweets to children.
Instilling the values ​​of belonging and love of the homeland through exciting stories.
Today, he received wide acclaim from the village residents who expressed their appreciation for Mansoura University’s efforts in providing these essential services that contributed to improving the quality of life in the village and enhancing health and environmental awareness among citizens.
