Community Service and Environmental Development Council at the University Holds its 261st Meeting, Chaired by the Vice President, and Commends the Efforts of Academic Leaders Sunday, November 17, 2024
As part of its ongoing follow-up to the operations of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, the university's Community Service and Environmental Development Council held its 261st meeting on Sunday, November 17, 2024, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The meeting began with a comprehensive presentation by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, who highlighted the key activities and achievements of the sector during the past period. The presentation also covered the future work plans aimed at enhancing the university's role in community service and its active contribution to achieving sustainable development through innovative environmental and community programs.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim extended his heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Dr. Dina Abu Al-Alaa on her appointment as the Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development at the Faculty of Arts. He also expressed deep gratitude to Prof. Dr. Soheir Wahid for her efforts during her previous tenure as vice dean of the faculty, appreciating the excellent work she had done in that position.
Additionally, thanks were extended to Prof. Dr. Amal Al-Qaddah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, on the completion of her term. Her contributions to supporting community and environmental activities at the faculty were also highly praised. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim emphasized that the university highly values the efforts of all academic leaders who have contributed to the development and improvement of the academic sector and community activities.
During the meeting, the agenda concerning community service activities in the faculties was reviewed and discussed, with a focus on upcoming projects and programs to be implemented in the near future. The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between the various faculties and university administrations to support initiatives aimed at developing the local environment and enhancing the university’s community responsibility.
The meeting also discussed several important issues related to expanding community participation. Several proposals were raised to encourage students and faculty members to become more involved in the community and voluntary activities organized by the sector. There was also an emphasis on the importance of implementing integrated environmental projects that serve local communities and address the challenges of environmental sustainability.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim stressed the importance of continuous coordination and cooperation among all concerned parties, emphasizing the need for precise measurement mechanisms to evaluate the results of the implemented activities and projects. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all council members in achieving the strategic goals of the sector.
The meeting concluded with a call to all faculties and academic and administrative bodies to continue submitting their proposals and ideas aimed at developing community and environmental work. It was emphasized that the university will remain at the forefront of educational institutions contributing effectively to community service and environmental development.
Council members expressed their full commitment to achieving the future goals of the sector, commending the progress made thus far in developing community and environmental activities in line with the university’s vision and mission in community service and environmental development.
