Workshop on Occupational Safety and Health: Towards a Safe and Sustainable Work Environment Held at the Graduate Studies Hall on the ground floor of the Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University.

The workshop took place on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Graduate Studies Hall, Faculty of Medicine. It was attended by 60 staff members and occupational safety officials from the faculty.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by Prof. Dr. Ghada Mohamed Hassan El-Qenishy, who emphasized the importance of occupational safety and health awareness in creating a safer work environment. She encouraged attendees to adhere to safety instructions to mitigate risks and handle emergencies effectively.

Workshop Content:

The workshop featured a lecture delivered by the Occupational Safety and Health Management team, covering:

  • Moral Safety: Protecting workplace confidentiality and handling regulatory body visits.
  • Physical Safety: Preventive measures, fire types and handling methods, fire extinguisher usage, and protection against electrical and gas hazards.

Additionally, the workshop demonstrated:

  • How to create an emergency plan
  • Defining roles for staff and safety teams during a safe evacuation scenario

Prof. Dr. Dalia El-Teraby delivered a speech stressing the importance of adhering to the evacuation scenario instructions to ensure everyone’s safety.

The workshop concluded with a written survey to assess participants’ understanding and a Q&A session discussing responses to common incidents like burns, electric shocks, and chemical exposure.

Prof. Dr. Ghada El-Qenishy wrapped up the event by expressing gratitude to all attendees and trainers for their dedication to promoting a culture of safety and health in the workplace.
