The Community Service and Environmental Development Council at Mansoura University held its 266th session on Tuesday, January 20, 2025, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of Mansoura University for Community Service
The Community Service and Environmental Development Council at Mansoura University convened its 266th session on Tuesday, January 20, 2025, chaired by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the presence of the esteemed members of the Council, the vice deans of the university’s faculties for Community Service and Environmental Development, in addition to a distinguished group of members from outside the university.
These included Professor Dr. Nesreen Omar, Member of Parliament and former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Major General Hisham El-Hassary, Member of Parliament; Mr. Hazem Nasr, Head of Akhbar Al-Youm Bureau in Dakahlia; Engineer Ragab Abdel Hamid, Member of the Board of Directors of the Gamasa Industrial Zone; and Dr. Hala Abdel Razek, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Dakahlia. The session was also attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, as well as the wife and children of the late Professor Dr. Khaled Ziada, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Community Service and Environmental Development.
At the outset of the session, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim welcomed the attendees, expressing his deep appreciation for their presence. He then offered condolences and delivered a heartfelt eulogy for the late Professor Dr. Khaled Ziada, praising his sincere efforts and outstanding contributions throughout his career, his exemplary character, and his dedicated service within Mansoura University, affirming that the university has lost one of its most devoted members.
His Excellency presented a commemorative shield to the wife and children of the late professor, in the presence of Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Azim, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, as a gesture of appreciation and loyalty to his scientific and humanitarian legacy.
He also extended his congratulations on the occasion of Isra and Mi‘raj and the advent of the month of Sha‘ban, wishing continued goodness and prosperity for Egypt and the Islamic nation.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim then expressed his thanks and appreciation to Engineer Osama El-Barry in recognition of his dedication and efforts throughout his professional career as Director of the Vehicles Unit for Faculty Members, on the occasion of his retirement.
He further congratulated the Members of Parliament Dr. Nesreen Omar, Major General Hisham El-Hassary, and Mr. Nabil Abu Warda on their election and success in the House of Representatives, wishing them continued success in serving the nation. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to Mr. Wahid Fouda and Mr. Ahmed El-Sharkawy for their sincere efforts in serving the people of Mansoura during the previous period.
During the session, the Vice President of the University delivered a comprehensive presentation on the activities and achievements of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, reviewing the efforts of faculties, units, and centers, and highlighting the excellence and tangible achievements realized in the recent period, supported by infographics and numerical statistics illustrating the scope of completed work.
He also reviewed the engineering projects implemented within Mansoura University and its hospitals and medical centers, which witnessed comprehensive development contributing to their modern and civilized appearance, in addition to presenting a brief overview of the university’s new investment plan.
The presentation addressed the outcomes and achievements of the past two years, including Mansoura University’s attainment of first places globally and locally in literacy eradication, achieving first place as the best environmentally friendly university, the distinction of integrated medical convoys as the best nationwide, as well as the completion of 20 stalled projects, the completion of hospital mechanization, testing centers, and the development of the university’s infrastructure networks.
Subsequently, Her Excellency MP Dr. Nesreen Omar praised the great efforts exerted within the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and the tangible achievements realized, particularly the qualitative leap witnessed by the hospital sector in terms of structural and administrative development, the transition toward electronic management, and the development of oncology centers.
Major General Hisham El-Hassary affirmed that Mansoura University has become an honorable model for Egyptian universities, commending the prominent role played by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim in managing this successful system and achieving such distinction.
For his part, Mr. Hazem Nasr praised the achievements and development projects taking place at the university, emphasizing that these successes reflect a clear vision and conscious management of the sector.
Dr. Hala Abdel Razek also affirmed the strength of joint cooperation between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Mansoura University, praising the continuity of success and integration in implementing initiatives and community services.
At the conclusion of the session, the Community Service and Environmental Development Council discussed the agenda with the vice deans, and reviewed a number of proposals and topics related to the development of community work.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim concluded the session by extending his thanks and appreciation to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation and integration among all parties to achieve further accomplishments that serve the community and support the university’s developmental role.
